Class Offerings

In response to the hectic schedules of today's parents-to-be, we offer this day-long childbirth class.
Topics include:
Labor and birth process
Breathing and pushing techniques
Pain options
Recovery and postpartum
Hospital tour of the Family Birth Center

When:             Sundays at Providence St Peter Hospital
Cost:               $95 or Provider One, for expectant mother and one birth partner
Please bring:  Two bed-size pillows

Pediatricians agree that prevention of unintentional injuries is the key to keeping your baby safe. Before your baby arrives get prepared to keep him or her safe by learning how to prevent the most common unintentional injuries of infants and toddlers.
You will earn about common safety hazards in and around the house, what's recommended for infant sleep safety along with many other important topics.  You will also learn the proper procedures for assisting an infant, up to one year of age, who is choking or is unresponsive.
This class is recommended for parents, grandparents and anyone caring for a newborn or infant up to 1 year of age.  CPR and Foreign Body Airway Obstruction procedures are American Heart Association curriculum.  
When:                Monday evening classes from 6:30 - 9:00 pm

In this prenatal breastfeeding class, which is included with all childbirth classes, you will learn the benefits of breastfeeding for Mom and baby. You will learn proper positioning and latch-on techniques, how to troubleshoot potential problems, as well as helpful hints to enhance your breastfeeding success.

When:                Thursday evening classes from 7:00 - 9:00 pm
Location:            Providence St Peter Hospital
Cost:                  $25 per person if not attending our childbirth classes
